Lewisham Lionesses Launch New Girls' Football Programme

Young female footballers in Lewisham now have the opportunity to develop their skills, make new friends and build confidence by joining Lewisham’s newest girls football team as Lewisham Borough Community Football Club have launched its new Lewisham Lionesses girls' football programme this season.

The initiative is designed to provide fun, inclusive football sessions for girls aged 5 to 18, welcoming participants of all abilities and experience levels. Whether players are taking their first steps into the sport or looking to develop existing skills, the programme aims to create a positive environment where everyone can thrive.

The club's message is clear: Play. Improve. Belong. Through regular sessions, participants will have the chance to learn new football techniques, improve fitness and enjoy being part of a supportive team environment.

As well as developing football ability, the programme focuses on the wider benefits of sport. Lewisham Borough Community FC say the sessions will help young people build confidence, form new friendships and become part of a growing community of girls passionate about football.

The launch comes at a time when girls' football continues to grow in popularity across the UK, with increasing opportunities for young players to get involved in grassroots sport. Lewisham Borough Community Football Club hopes the Lionesses programme will encourage even more local girls to take up the game and enjoy the physical, social and emotional benefits that football can provide.

Sessions will take place at the Alex Yee Ladywell Arena, Silvermere Road, Catford, SE6 4QX. Parents and guardians interested in registering their children or learning more about the programme can contact the club directly.
