Yarborough's Health & Wellbeing Day
The event brought together a wide range of local health, wellbeing, community and support organisations, providing an opportunity for members of the local community to access information, advice, health checks and activities, whilst finding out more about the support and services available to them locally.
Organisations involved included Great Northern Physiotherapy, Lincoln City Foundation, Every-One, Healthwatch Lincolnshire, Active Lincolnshire as well as many others.
The event included a variety of interactive activities and information stands such as Health checks including blood pressure & use of or body composition scales, reaction pods, speed stackers and reaction-catching sticks, Menopause support and general health conversations, mental health and wellbeing support, community services, social prescribing and wider wellbeing signposting.
It was also great to have the Lincoln Mayor, Clare Smalley, and City Sheriff, Mr Darryl Smalley attend the event to talk to all organisations.
Overall, the day demonstrated the value of bringing local health, wellbeing and community services together in one place. It was a great opportunity to showcase Healthwise, strengthen local partnerships and reinforce the role our leisure centres can play as community wellbeing hubs.
