The Leisure Pool is Staying Open
Making a splash this winter! Sovereign Centre Leisure Pool to remain open all year round
Great news for families across Eastbourne and the surrounding area, The Sovereign Centre's popular Leisure Pool will remain open throughout the winter months, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy swimming and family fun all year round.
In previous years, the Leisure Pool has closed during the quieter winter period. However, following months of careful planning, operational reviews and a commitment to improving the customer experience, a new approach has been developed that will allow the facility to remain open throughout the colder months.
This marks an exciting step forward for the Sovereign Centre, ensuring that families can continue to enjoy one of Eastbourne's most popular indoor leisure attractions, whatever the weather.
More opportunities for family fun
The Leisure Pool has long been a favourite destination for local families, providing a fun and welcoming environment for children and adults of all ages.
By remaining open throughout the winter, the centre will offer more opportunities for families to enjoy quality time together, stay active and make the most of their local leisure facilities.
Whether it's enjoying the waves and flume, weekend family outing, a school holiday treat or simply an opportunity to escape the cold, the Leisure Pool will continue to provide a fantastic indoor activity throughout the winter months.
Making year-round opening possible
Behind the scenes, a considerable amount of work has gone into exploring how the Leisure Pool can remain open while ensuring its operation is both efficient and sustainable.
This has included reviewing opening hours, staffing arrangements, maintenance schedules and the use of new technology to support the safe and effective operation of the facility.
By introducing a different approach to managing the pools and scheduling essential maintenance, the Sovereign Centre aims to maximise the availability of the Leisure Pool while continuing to maintain high standards of safety and customer experience.
Your support makes a difference
Keeping the Leisure Pool open throughout the winter is an exciting opportunity, and the support of the local community will play an important role in making it a long-term success.
Every visit helps demonstrate the value of providing year-round access to this much-loved facility and supports the ambition to make winter opening a permanent feature at the Sovereign Centre.
The initiative also reflects GLL's ongoing commitment to making physical activity accessible, affordable and enjoyable for everyone, while working to provide leisure facilities that meet the needs of the local community.
